  • CH 80 - CAMI DES TERRES ROUGES

Saillagouse's red ground is composed of reddish silts, clays, shale debris, granites and sands. These lands were shaped by the glaciers of the Quaternary era. These fragile soils are subject to erosion and are transformed into sediments. Thanks to these elements, about fifteen potters practiced their trade in Saillagouse in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Open your eyes all along the hike to see these famous lands!
