Porté-Puymorens, in Catalan Portè i Pimorent, is a small village located at an altitude of 1,600 m at the entrance to the Regional Natural Park of the Catalan Pyrenees at the crossroads of Andorra (10 km) and Spain (20 km). In both summer and winter, it is a real sports and leisure resort and a favourite spot for ski and hiking enthusiasts. THAT'S WORTH A VISIT!
The Cerdane Tower: Even if it was not until the Second Empire that a road linked Cerdanya to the Ariège was built, the Carol Valley has been an important Pyrenean way since the beginning of time. The Cerdane tower defended access to Catalonia. The population sheltered and defended itself there.
